On June 8th, 2021, the General Statistics Office held a training conference of profession and software for individual business establishments; religious, beliefs establishments of Economic Census 2021. Mr. Nguyen Trung Tien, Head of the Standing Group of the Steering Committee of the Central Economic Census, Deputy Director of the General Statistics Office (GSO) chaired the conference. Attending the conference directly at the headquarters of the General Statistics Office, there were representatives of the Central Economic Census Standing Team, the supervisors summoned to participate in the supervision of the Economic Census 2021 and a number of applications relevant person of the General Statistics Office. Attending the conference online, there were bridge points at 63 Provincial Statistics Office and 160 District Statistical Offices.
Speaking at the opening conference, Deputy Director General Nguyen Trung Tien said, implementing the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 307/QD-TTg dated February 27th, 2020 on organization of the Economic Census 2021, the GSO has maintain the implementation of the Census of enterprise, non-business and association questionnaires from March 1st, 2021 and carry out surveys of individual business establishments, religious and belief establishments from July 1st, 2021. In the upcoming period, from July 1st to July 30th, 2021, individual and religious surveys will be deployed on 5.2 million individual establishments and religious, belief establishments around the country. In order to guide the contents of the investigation, the recording, checking and monitoring in the process of collecting information and checking and accepting the questionnaire, the GSO organized a training day on these contents.
At the conference, the GSO’s representatives will present a number of contents: Tasks of the Phase 2 of Economic Census 2021; training professional on questionnaires for individual business establishments, religious, belief establishments; guide for use and practice software to collect information on individual business establishments, religion and belief establishments.
Compared with the Economic Census 2017 and the Individual census 2020, the Economic Census 2021 has some fundamental changes to individual business establishments and religious, belief establishments: (1) Changes in units assume the prime responsibility for organizing the implementation of the Census: The Department of Trade and Service Statistics shall preside over the preparation for 2020, the Department of Data Collection and Application of Statistical Information Technology shall assume the prime responsibility for the collection information in 2021; (2) Change in questioning methods; (3) Additional subjects of investigation: all establishments without fixed business locations are surveyed in full; (4) Change from an economic sector approach to a product industry.
With many improvements and innovations of the Economic Census 2021, the training conference provided a lot of information and detailed instructions on the operation and application of information technology to the participants. In addition, the participants also discussed and contributed many ideas around the contents presented at the conference.
