In the morning dated 01/02/2021 in Hanoi, the General Statistics Office of Vietnam (GSO) held a conference on delegates of civil servants and employees 2021. Participants of the conference were Leaders of the GSO; leadership representatives and Union chairman of units under the General Statistics Office; Standing Committee of the Trade Union; Head of People’s Inspection Committee; Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of GSO; Head of Women’s Affairs Department; Chief of GSO’s Party Committee Office.
The meeting of civil servants and employees of GSO 2021 was held with the following contents: Summary report of GSO 2020, directions and tasks 2021 and review implementing the Resolution of the Conference on delegates of civil servants and employees 2020; Final report on emulation and reward activities in 2020 and directions and tasks in 2021 of GSO; Report on GSO’s State budget expenditure 2020 and State budget expenditure estimate 2021; Report on activities of the People’s Inspection Committee for the term of 2019-2021; electing the People’s Inspectorate for the term 2021-2023; adopting principles of selecting delegates to attend the 2021 Conference ondDelegates of Civil Servants and Employees of the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
After Mr. Nguyen Binh, Chief of GSO’s Office and Ms. Do Thi Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the Trade Union announced the opening, approved the list of the GSO’s Presidium, the Secretariat and the agenda, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, Director General of GSO presented the Summary Report of GSO 2020, directions and tasks in 2021 and reviewed the implementation of the Resolution of the Conference and Employees 2020. In this regard, the General Director emphasized that the Statistics sector has successfully completed the tasks of ensuring socio-economic statistical information to serve leaders of the Party, the National Assembly, the Government, at all levels, sectors and localities and the statistical information needs of domestic and international organizations and individuals; completing the legal environment, implementing the Vietnam Statistical Development Strategy for the period 2011-2020, with a vision to 2030 and major scheme of the sector; Statistical regime methodology and Information technology application in statistical activities and executive direction were focused to implement; The international cooperation in statistical activities has come into fact helping to improve the status of Vietnam statistics with the international community in general and in the ASEAN regional statistical community in particular; GSO has drastically renovated the organization and rearranged the organization model according to Decision No. 10/2020/QD-TTg dated 18/3/2020 of the Prime Minister defining the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of GSO under the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
Entering 2021, the Covid-19 pandemic continues to evolve complicatedly, the world political and economic situation are forecasted to have many uncertainties, unprediction and is also the first year to implement the Congress Resolution of The XIII National Party, Leaders of GSO expect collective and individual leaders, civil servants, officers and employees in the whole sector to continously promote solidarity, be responsibilite, continue to innovate, closely coordinate with relevant individuals and agencies to improve effectiveness and efficiency of operations, contribute to successful implementation of work with the theme “Proactively connect and adapt, improve statistical performance” to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Statistics sector. Specially focus on implementing the tasks set out in 2021: Effectively collect and process statistical information, maximize application of information technology in collecting and processing. statistical information; continue to well perform the compilion and dissemination of statistical information, serving leaders of the Party, the National Assembly, the Government, all levels, branches, localities and improving the capacity of the statistical system.
Also at the Conference, a Summary Report on the emulation and reward activities in 2020 and directions and tasks in 2021 of GSO was approved. The Conference of civil servants and employees of GSO in 2021 launched the emulative movement with the theme: Promoting achievements in 2020, overcoming difficulties, and pushing up the emulation movement widely and practically, in order to successfully complete tasks of 2021 under the theme “Proactively connect and adapt, improve the efficiency of statistical activities”
The meeting also elected the People’s Inspection Committee for the 2021-2023 term and elected delegates to attend the 2021 Conference on Delegates of Civil Servants, and Employees of the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
Closing the Conference, General Director Nguyen Thi Huong required leaders of participating units to thoroughly grasp and disseminate all the contents of the Conference to all civil servants and employees in units; implement works that has not been performed at the Conference, especially award the reward titles to civil servants and employees units with a solemn, timely spirit to encourage and inspire individuals; Grasp the determination to implement works according to the contents, political tasks approved in the Conference, make efforts to innovate and strengthen the connection to complete proposed plans, serving as a sustainable basis to enhance employee’s material and spiritual life in the coming time.
