Industrial index of production in 9 months of 2022 of a number of 2- digit key increased sharply compared to the same period last year: Manufacture of beverages (31.9%); Manufacture of wearing apparel (22.5%); manufacture of leather and related products (20.4%); Manufacture of pharmaceuticals, medicinal chemical and botanical products (18.3%); Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c (17.3%); Manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork (16.4%); Manufacture of electrical equipment (14.9%); Manufacture of other transport equipment, and Manufacture of tobacco products (both increased by 11.4%). In the opposite direction, the IIP index of some industries decreased: Manufacture of rubber and plastic products (-5.4%); Manufacture of basic metals (-0.8%).
Industrial production index in 9 months of 2022 compared to the same period last year increased in 61 localities and decreased in 02 localities across the country. Some localities with IIP index achieved a relatively high increase due to the manufacturing; electricity distribution industry increased[1]. In the opposite direction, some localities have low or low IIP index increase because the manufacturing industry has not regained the high growth momentum as before the pandemic; Mining and electricity production and distribution industry increase or decrease [2].

[2] Localities with low or low increase or decrease in the production index of the processing and manufacturing industry in the nine months of 2022 compared to the same period last year are: Lao Cai and Ba Ria – Vung Tau with an increase of 8.7%; Quang Ngai increased by 8%; Bac Kan increased by 6.9%; Ninh Binh increased by 3.7%; Ha Tinh fell 11.5%. Localities have the index of electricity production and distribution industry in the 9 months of 2022 down compared to the same period last year: Binh Thuan down 2%; Quang Ninh down 3.7%; Ca Mau decreased by 8.6%; Ninh Binh down 13.4%; Ha Tinh down 35.3%; Tra Vinh fell 36.2%. Localities with mining industry in 9 months of 2022 compared to the same period last year increased or decreased: Ba Ria – Vung Tau increased by 3%; Lao Cai decreased by 9.8%; Binh Dinh down 30.3%.
