Mr. Nguyen Bich Lam, Director General of GSO spoke at the press conference
On March 27, 2020, the General Statistics Office (GSO) held a press conference to announce Vietnam’s socio-economic statistics in the first quarter of 2020. Mr. Nguyen Bich Lam, Director General of GSO chaired this event.
In the context of COVID-19 epidemic outbreak in the world causing negative impacts on all socio-economic fields, the epidemic prevention and suppression are given top priority; Vietnam’s Government decides to sacrifice economic benefits to ensure life and health of the people. However, the Government, the Prime Minister, all levels, sectors, localities, the business community and the people of Vietnam still strive together so that the economy does not fall into negative growth. Vietnam’s economy in the first quarter achieved a good growth rate compared to other countries in the region and the world.
