Based on official data from the 2002 Household Living Standard Survey and preliminary data from the 2004 Household Living Standard Survey, the General Statistics Office (GSO) announces 2002 and 2004 poor household rates according to the poverty line standard issued by the Prime Minister and applied for period 2006-2010 (200,000 VND per person per month for rural area and 260,000 VND per person per month for urban area) as follows:

These above rates were derived basing on household capita income data and CPI for each of urban and rural areas over years to eliminate the price fluctuation factor.
