In the afternoon, November 19, 2018, in Hanoi, the Central Steering Committee for the 2019 Population and Housing Census (hereafter called the Central Steering Committee for the 2019 Census) held the first session to review the preparation for the 2019 Census.
The total population of Viet Nam as of the time-point 00:00 on 1 April 2019 was 96,208,984 persons.
The data collection of the 2019 Population and Housing Census took place from 1-25 April 2019.
Over the last five year there has been a total increase of 4,646,355 people, 929,271 per annum.
The results of the 2009 census data analysis have shown that the SRB in Viet Nam has increased to a value of 110.6 boys per 100 girls in 2009, which is a significant deviation from the natural range of 104-106 boys per 100 girls.
Analysis revealed an increasing trend in migration in both absolute and relative terms, and a strong contribution of migration to urban areas, especially the larger urban areas.
